ADN Commemorates 29th EDSA
The Provincial Government of Agusan del Norte joined the whole nation in commemorating the 29th Anniversary of the People Power EDSA Revolution on February 25, 2015 at the Capitol Grounds, Butuan City.
The simple program kicked off with a traditional flag raising ceremony done by the Phil. National Police (PNP) - Agusan del Norte and wreath-laying of flowers to the Philippine Flag led by elected officials and heads of offices of the provincial government.
DILG Provincial Director Romeo A. Solis, in his opening statement, talked about the true essence of EDSA and its significance in connection with the current situation of the country.
CARAGA 20th Anniversary Celebration
The Caraga Administrative Region XIII spearheaded by Regional Development Council (RDC) headed by Surigao Del Norte Provincial Governor Sol F. Matugas celebrated on February 23, 2015 its 20th year Anniversary held at Almont Hotel and Inland Resort, Butuan City.
The Program of activities included the parade from Butuan City Hall grounds to Almont Inland Resort and followed by a Thanksgiving Mass. Butuan City Vice Mayor Angelo S. Calo, representing Hon. City Mayor Ferdinand M. Amante, Jr. delivered his welcome address to all the distinguished guests and visitors. RDC Vice-Chairperson and NEDA Regional Director Mylah Faya Aurora B. Carino presented the CARAGA Declaration to the Plenary.
AgNor boosts livestock industry
The provincial government of Agusan del Norte is boosting its livestock industry by upgrading and re-stocking its Small Ruminant Production Center in Barangay Maningalao, municipality of Las Nieves, this province.
With the help from the Department of Agriculture-Regional Field Office XIII (DAR-RFO), the provincial government will be receiving 2 heads carabaos (caraheifer), 10 heads upgraded cattle (heifer), 22 heads purebred goats (2 buck, 20 doe) and 3 heads swine (1 GP boar, 2 PS Gilts) as breeding stocks.
Provincial Governor Ma. Angelica Rosedell “Angel” M. Amante-Matba pushed for the realization of this project, which is in line with the development agenda of the province on agriculture, to improve the livestock industry of the province to achieve self-sufficiency of marginal farmers.
