Mamanua Tribe Soon To Relocate In Resettlement Site |

Sixty (60) families of the Mamanua tribe in the municipality of Jabonga will now have their own permanent dwelling when the Two hundred thousand pesos (P 200,000.00) is transferred to the municipality by virtue of Sanggunian Resolution No. 392 that was approved recently by the Sangguniang Panlalawigan.
The amount is a provincial counterpart fund for the acquisition of a resettlement site of the Mamanua tribe under the Support to Indigenous People (SIP) component project, a joint undertaking of the province of Agusan del Norte and Jabonga through an equal cost-sharing scheme. The lot situated at Sitio Coro, Barangay Colorado , Jabonga with an area of 3.2 hectares will not only provide resettlement site for the tribe but will also give livelihood opportunities for the indigenous community.
