After 7 days of intense outpouring of grief, family,  friends, and supporters bid farewell to former Cabadbaran Mayor Rosario Malbas Amante  when she was finally  laid to rest at the Raniel Memorial Garden, Cabadbaran City on October 28, 2008. 

The Magallanes National High School (MNHS) took home the grand prize and all the special awards on this year’s 8th Lisagan Festival of the Municipality of Magallanes on October 17, 2008 before hundreds of spectators coming from all over the province  witness this annual colorful event.           

 Aside from the Seventy Thousand (P/70,000.00) pesos major prize, MNHS also went home with the Best in Costume and the Best in Street Dancing awards besting 6 other contenders from the city of Butuan and from other nearby towns.

Ms. Kriska O. Dela Cruz was crowned Bb. Tubay 2008 on the eve of the 61st Founding Anniversary of the municipality of Tubay on October 19, 2008 at the Tubay Social Hall.               

Kriska bested other 11 candidates aspiring for the crown. All of them exude beauty, charm and wit but of course, the “cream of the crop” must still be chosen to come up with a worthy winner. As the winner, she received a cash prize of Ten Thousand (P10,000.00) aside from  a college scholarship sponsored by the municipal government.
