Capitol, Butuan City- 2009 marked the 15^th founding anniversary of the Provincial Employees Council of Agusan del Norte(PECAN). It was significantly celebrated at the Capitol Building last May 27, 2009.

With this year’s theme “One vision, one voice in fulfilling its mission” the employees’ association, led by incumbent President Mr. Fermin C. Antenorio together with his fellow officers and members gave importance to its commemoration and made the celebration more precious and memorable. A thanksgiving was held as first part of the program. Subsequently on that day of May 27, 2009 at the capitol lobby, a short program was conducted and it was followed by indoor games which were enthusiastically participated in by their members.  

The Sangguniang Panlalawigan unanimously confirmed the appointments of Dr. Elizabeth N. Campado as Provincial Health Officer II and Mr. Rofel C. Cabaltera as  Provincial Planning and Development Officer.

Dr. Campado replaced Dr. Mercedes B. Atupan as Chief of the Provincial Health Office while Mr. Cabaltera replaced Engr. Lauro B. Vallejos as Chief of the Provincial Planning and Development Office, who both retired from the government service

Capitol, Butuan City - World earth day was celebrated last April 22, 2009. It was  designed to inspire awareness and appreciation for the earth environment. This celebration echoed around the world and sent a message honoring our planet and reminding  all people that there’s a need for  continuing care on environment which is vital to Earth’s safety. 

Through Proclamation 1481 signed by President Arroyo declaring April 22 of every year as the Philippine Earth Day.

Provincial officials are positive that with the passage of an entrepreneurship development plan, the provincial government would no longer depend much on its Internal Revenue Allotment (IRA) share.
