Teachers Prepare for Provincial Tourism Module’s Implementation
The provincial government of Agusan del Norte, in cooperation with the Department of Tourism and the Department of Education, initiated efforts for the implementation of the provincial tourism module in the primary and secondary levels of education in the province.
A two-day seminar was held at the provincial training center from April 28-29, 2015and was attended by primary and secondary educators hailing from all the municipalities of Agusan del Norte.
The tourism module is meant to educate Agusanons, especially the youth regarding the natural wonders of their respective municipalities.
Search for 2015 Disaster-Resilient LGU ongoing
The provincial government of Agusandel Norte is now undergoing evaluation and assessment of the local government units (LGUs) in the province vying for the Search for 2015 Disaster-Resilient LGU, also known as GawadKalasag 2015.
The Provincial Selection Committee (PSC), headed by the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG), and members: SangguniangPanlalawigan Office (SPO), Provincial Social Welfare Population and Nutrition Services Office (PSWPNSO), Provincial Health Office (PHO), Philippine Information Agency (PIA), Department of Education (DEPED), Department of Science and Technology (DOST), and Red Cross, have started reviewing all the documents submitted by the local government units.
PAO Forefronts Livelihood Dispersal Program
The Provincial Agriculture Office of Agusan del Norte, in line with its advocacy in promoting agricultural development and assistance throughout the province, initiated the Livelihood Dispersal Program last April, 2015.
According to Ms. Dulcesima G. Dy, Division Chief of the Regulatory and Training Division, kabir chicks and piglets were dispersed to beneficiaries. Beneficiaries of the program included farmers and livestock developers. Among the beneficiaries were from the municipalities of Nasipit, Las Nieves and Magallanes. 200 heads of kabir chicks were dispersed in Nasipit, 150 heads in Las Nieves and Magallanes, and 6 heads of piglets in Nasipit.
